Collections and tags
See all your files grouped into Drive-like folders. Filter by collection or tag and find things fast.
Amber turns the files your team already keeps in Google Drive into a searchable knowledge base. Every answer shows where it came from, and people only ever see answers built from files they are allowed to open.
Three steps, and your files stay in your Google Drive.
Upload from your computer, or pick files from Google Drive. Amber saves uploads to an “Amber Uploads” folder in your own Drive.
Group files into collections like folders, add tags, and choose who can open each one. Sharing changes are made in Google Drive too, so the two never disagree.
Search by meaning, not just keywords. Answers cite the passages they came from, and respect each person’s access.
The formats you already use, with the controls you would expect.

Share a single file or a whole collection with specific people or your organization. Amber updates Google Drive sharing to match.
Open any file to see who owns it, how many people it is shared with, when it changed, and how much of it is searchable. If something fails, you see exactly why.
A person can only see files they own or that were shared with them. Administrators can review who has access, not read the text.
Add and remove users, set roles, review every document’s access list, and tune how files are indexed.
No new passwords. Use the Google accounts your team already has.
Your documents are the point of the product, so we keep the promises simple.
Amber asks for the “drive.file” permission. It can open only files you pick or that it saved for you, not your whole Drive.
Data travels over HTTPS, and the key that lets Amber reach your Drive is stored encrypted.
Disconnect Drive or delete a file at any time. Your original files in Google Drive are never deleted by Amber.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Read the details in our Privacy Policy.
Your originals stay in your Google Drive. Amber keeps the text it extracts, split into small passages, and a numeric representation of each passage used for search.
You, and anyone you share a file with. If you share with your organization, people in your domain can see it. Administrators can see names, owners and access lists, but Amber gives them no way to read the text of files they cannot open.
You can share a file with any Google account by email, the same way you would in Drive.
Amber is under active development. Terms and features may change as we learn, and we will tell you about material changes.
